Safety & Compliance Specialist - Guelph

**Requirements**:

- Prior experience in the Transportation industry
- Knowledge of Federal/State and Provincial legislation/regulations.
- General Geographical Knowledge (Continental USA & Canada)
- Hands on experience with Hours of Service - Omnitracs ELD
- Strong Organizational and Time Management skills
- Exceptional communication of English Language (read/write/verbal)
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite (excel/word/outlook)
- Ability to build and foster relationships with drivers.
- Ability to perform day to day activities professionally without supervision (including: explaining, instructing, training, and coaching drivers)
- Attention to detail when completing documentation
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to problem solve and improve processes
- Reliable mode of transportation to our Guelph Location
- Ability to answer calls after hours that require on-demand assistance.

**Preferences**:

- Valid AZ License is an asset to assist with road testing as required (this is not required)
- Bilingual - French (read/write/verbal) - (asset but not required)
- General Geographical Knowledge & experience with calculating transit times (Continental USA & Canada)
- Experience with Dispatching software (Fleet Manager)

**About the Role**:

- Daily monitoring and auditing of Hours of Service ELD Compliance
- Staying current with all Federal and Provincial Regulatory obligations
- Assisting Director of Safety & Compliance regarding accident/incident/injury, as well as progressive disciplinary documentation (administrative duties)
- Working alongside HR department to ensure complete driver files (including reference checks
- Educate and Coaching drivers on topics of Hours of Service, Vehicle inspection, cargo securement, defensive driving, CTPAT, along with addressing any concerns they may have.
- Managing and Digitizing Driver Files, Accident/Incident Files.
- Assisting with Monitoring/maintaining CVOR/SMS profile
- Periodically inspect vehicles for cleanliness
- Participate and contribute to safety meetings
- Other administrative duties as required.
