**Position Overview**:
Reporting to the AVP, Talent Development, the Director, Learning and Development will partner closely with Business stakeholders and HR Team members to design, implement, deliver, and continuously improve key people programs to develop high performing teams by optimizing talent to meet the evolving needs of the business, while maximizing employee experience.
This role will have ownership for creating strategic solutions that leverage existing soft-skill and leadership development programming, as well as developing new programming to help strengthen employee client-centric mindset, internal collaboration, and industry and business acumen.
**Responsibilities**:
Strategic Development Partner & Facilitator
- Develop and implement org-wide business acumen development strategy with a focus on client-centric mindset
- Design and implement sustainable department/team-specific development solutions that build specific skills and capabilities to support desired business outcomes, positioning them to succeed in their current jobs and develop skills to serve our future growth
- Support the facilitation of existing CIBC Mellon development programs with a focus on team and leadership development. (Example: CIBC Mellon Manager Program, AVP+ sessions, targeted leadership and soft-skill development workshops)
- Foster a collaborative working relationship with CIBC Mellon parent companies (CIBC & BNY Mellon) to identify and leverage program synergies: Partner to leverage existing specialized/system training for critical groups driving consistency, connection, and cost-savings
- Partner with the Director, Talent Development and HR Team members to optimize solutions to help employees more easily navigate their development in distinct career tracks, including new employees, critical transitions, and experienced people managers and leaders
- Other key accountabilities include:
- Elevate and embed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion throughout all programming, equipping employees and managers with the skills and resources needed to foster a culture of inclusion
- Identify and adopt or develop transformative learning methods that are easily accessible, personalized, digitized and automated for the best employee learning experience
- Evaluate, manage and deploy learning investments in third party tools and partnerships when appropriate, including budget, vendor, and partner management
- Develop evaluation and assessment tools to measure impact and return on investment on learning and development initiatives, supporting the growth of CIBC Mellon’s talent pipeline
- Lead by example, to coach, partner with, and motivate team members with a clear vision that inspires high performance
**Qualifications**:
Key Leadership Behaviours
- 5+ years of experience in developing learning strategies to support internal business and/or skill-specific learning
- 5-7+ years of experience in developing and/or delivering leadership and soft skill development programs
- 5-7+ years of experience in facilitating for Director+ audience
- 10+ years progressive experience in an HR or Organizational Development function
- Ability to effectively lead highly collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and cross-functional project teams
- Ability to skillfully manage and engage directly with multiple internal stakeholders to build influence and strengthen the HR/Talent Development team brand
- Ability to create and deliver executive level presentations, demonstrating clear vision and path to execution with a strategic perspective
- Results-driven; highly focused on accountability, delivers results (executes with a sense of urgency)
- Role model of ethics and integrity; building a culture of respect and personal accountability

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education
- University degree with specialization in Organizational Development / Leadership Development
