**The Program**:
Track: Young People’s Lodge provides services to help treat adolescents with serious emotional and/or behavioural difficulties who are not yet able to be effectively served in the community. An emphasis is placed on parental involvement, community participation, and the development of relevant community-living skills. The treatment modalities include the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), an evidence-based practice developed by Bruce D. Perry, M.D., Ph.D., and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), which focuses on teaching skills in four areas: mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness.

**The Position**:
The program has an opening for a **full time Level III Child and Youth Care Counsellor**. This leadership role involves supporting and training staff and responsibility for overall daily program operations. The schedule for this role is Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm/ 1pm to 9pm rotation.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide leadership, training and supervision to staff as required.
- Complete supervisory and administrative duties in absence of the Program Coordinator; this could include making decisions regarding program changes and individual cases.
- Coordinate and monitor systems and overall activities on shift.
- Be a liaison between front line and senior staff and ensure effective communication.
- Assist with counsellor evaluations, personal development plans and weekly CSOP evaluations.
- Provide on-the-job training to Level I staff and general supervision and guidance to Level II staff; help support and supervise practicum students.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Qualified as a Level III counsellor or has completed their Level III checklist.
- Degree/Diploma in a Human Services, Social Sciences or a related field.
- Experience training and supervising staff.
- Ability to promote and deliver the program’s framework, adhere to and encourage program and Agency standards, and help oversee the operation of the program.
- Demonstrated interest, commitment, consistency, and a high level of personal maturity and responsibility.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as effectively and cooperatively with colleagues.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
- Cross cultural competence; knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the recommendations, goals and activities of the commission.
- A Police Information Check, which includes a vulnerable sector search, is required (or is in process of being completed) prior to employment.
- A Child Intervention Record Check is required upon commencement of employment.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and ability to drive Agency vehicles is preferred (min. 2 years driving experience with a class 5/GDL class 5 license).
- Completion of ASIST, First Aid, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Certification with CYCAA.
