**THE PROGRAM**:
Boyle Street Community Services has partnered with Alberta Health Services to deliver and provide mental Health support for youth and their families in Edmonton and surrounding areas. Collectively, these partnering agencies seek to assist youth and families, who frequently access tertiary services, without experiencing functional improvement.Youth community Support Program (YCSP) supports holistic youth recovery in a safe, respectful environment, where youth and families are included and valued. YCSP supports the positive identities of youth and families by recognizing their skills, strengths, successes, and resources. Our responsive programming is based upon The Wellness Model and Dialectical Behavior Therapy principles. YCSP is a wraparound service designed to support skill development, social involvement, and active citizenship. We respect and empower families to cultivate their own healthy environments and communities.**
**KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Coordinate with multidisciplinary team to assist youth that have acute mental health challenges, and their families, to lead healthier lives.- Utilize a harm-reduction and strength-based perspective to develop new and strengthen existing formal and natural supports.- Enhance the youth and family’s connection to, and knowledge of, community resources, services, and support youth to increase their physical, spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and financial wellness.- Assist in the development and revision of goal plans.- Attend weekly case conference meetings.- Co-Facilitate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills groups, in partnership with a clinical team.- Support Clinicians in disseminating, translating, and practicing DBT material when needed and in alignment with outreach deliverables.- Provide crisis intervention and safety planning.- Respect and meet the various cultural needs of program participants.- Assist in program development to enhance life skills to support independence (building healthy relationships, emotional regulation, sexual health, distress tolerance etc.)- Build positive relationships with related community agencies/partners.- Contribute to social and community programming for youth and facilitate as needed.- Perform other related duties as assigned by the YCSP manager or assistant manager.***

**Education**:
Diploma or Degree in Human Services is desirable but equivalent education will be considered; minimum of two years’ experience working with youth and families***
**Skills, Abilities and Attitudes**:

- Demonstrate effective time management skills, maintain professional client boundaries, strong professional and efficient problem-solving skills.- Exceptional ability to connect with people from various backgrounds, who have experienced significant barriers to services and programs.- Excellent inter-personal and communication, de-escalation abilities, and crisis management.- Understand harm-reduction, client-focused and strength-based practices.- Demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm, and creativity in providing support to youth and families with complex mental health needs.- Good working knowledge of data entry systems, computer programs and report writing.- Able to walk, stand, sit, drive, reach, lift, climb stairs, pushing, pulling, reaching, crouching, and squatting may be required sometimes. Environment may include dust and noise.***
**Experience and Requirements**:

- An in-depth understanding of treating mental health in the community.- Facilitating groups independently and in partnership with team members.- Strength-based, harm-reduction, trauma-informed and client-centered practices experience.- Working in cross-disciplinary teams an asset.- Current First Aid Level C, CPR, and AED an asset.- Current ASIST certification an asset.- Must h
