**Job-Description - Shop Fabricator**

**Position Overview**:
As part of the shop team, the Shop Fabricator is responsible for high quality fabrication on various structural components and custom parts. The fabricator ensures the finished parts match the drawings, meet quality standards and timelines required for customer orders.

**Reports to**: Operations Manager

**Outcome Expectations**:

- Blueprints and engineering drawings are analyzed to assess required materials and plan the sequence of tasks to produce the finished items.
- Drawings are checked for any errors based on past experience or inconsistencies. Any concerns are brought to the attention of the Operations Manager.
- Various tools including bending machines, power tools, drill presses, grinders and brake presses are used safely and effectively.
- Training is obtained on any equipment as required.
- Quality and speed of fabrication is monitored on every part created to reflect actual cost to produce the parts.
- Efficiencies are sought out and suggested to the Operations Manager while fabricating several of the same parts to reduce or maintain production times and minimize costs of produced parts.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

**Skills and Specifications**
- Have a good command of the English language
- Welding experience is considered an asset
- Have access to reliable transportation
- Have own Safety Shoes
- The ability to work individually and as a member of a team
- The ability to plan work so as to maximize effectiveness and minimize wasted time and materials
- The ability to read drawings and blueprints or welding process specifications.

**Education and Qualifications**
- High school diploma or GDP equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of fabrication experience
