Teck is looking for an experienced Maintenance Leader (Group Leader) to join our team at our Trail Operations, one of the world's largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, Lead Operations this position provides leadership and direction to a maintenance crew. The successful applicant must be a champion of safety and capable of motivating and leading a maintenance team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Partner with stakeholders and coordinate maintenance work to ensure operational needs are met and maintenance is performed according to Trail Operations standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead a team by managing daily activities, providing oversight, driving performance and excellence and organizing work to achieve a positive working environment.
- Provide opportunities for assignments that leverages skills, promotes learning and grows people’s capabilities
- Support and guide team by investigating maintenance problems, recommending solutions, providing technical direction and advice and providing assistance in the selection of equipment
- Prioritize, plan and schedule crews to perform work to maximize crew utilization and equipment availability following the Teck Reliability & Maintenance process.
- Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure quality and efficiency. Provide personnel effectiveness appraisal for direct reports based on individual & team outputs
- Prioritize operational needs by reassigning trade resources for unplanned work.
- Develop and maintain cross functional working relationships to ensure priorities are aligned with business requirements, reduce job delays and increase organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with stakeholders prioritizing transparent and proactive communication
- Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and reliability teams to provide real-time equipment condition into the development of asset management plans
- Utilize JDE to maintain master data for parts and equipment information. Capture repair and failure history for improvement
- Assist with cost management by preparing section budget, monitoring costs and understanding variances
- Participate in the investigation and resolution of personnel and union conflicts

**Qualifications**:

- Interprovincial Journeyperson Certificate, Mechanical Engineering Degree or other related degree or certification required
- Minimum of 5 years trade experience required
- 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
- Strong supervisory skills required with ability to motivate and hold others accountable
- Excellent prioritization and task management skills required
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills required
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Fosters teamwork, continuous improvement, open communication, and respect
- Experience leading an electrical team a plus
- Knowledge of the Collective Agreement and associated Letters of Understanding is preferred

Salary Range: $101,000 - $125,000
