From first time runners, professional athletes, and everyone in-between, VR Pro hosts fun and inclusive race events for everyone. We are looking for passionate individuals to join our growing team.

**The Role**

We are currently seeking outgoing, personable, and reliable Event Staff to assist in the execution of our race events. As an Event Staff, you’ll help make our races a fun and safe place to be. You’ll give exceptional customer service by creating an inviting and welcoming place for people to celebrate the sport of running. You will have a chance to grow and learn new things as you gain experience with hosting events in the running world. If you love running, connecting with people, and giving back to the community, this is the role for you.

**What the role involves**:

- Setting up the racecourse on the day of the event (laying out pylons, KM markers, signs, water stations, etc.).
- Setting up the race venue (involves heavy lifting, setting up tents, tables, the start/finish line structure, and other event items as needed).
- Being responsible for a specific area on race day (such as overseeing a turnaround point, overseeing a water station and the volunteers at that station, race day volunteer captain, lead/sweep bike, overseeing finish line activities, and other race day duties as needed).
- Pre-race pack up (helping to pack up the truck the day before the race with supplies that are needed on race day).
- Pre-racecourse preparations (going over and measuring the course leading up to the race).
- Helping at race kit pick up prior to race day or putting race kits together.

**What we are looking for**:

- Motivated individuals who have experience working at or participating in races.
- You can lift 50lb and can walk 10,000 steps per day.
- You can work outside in a variety of conditions (we host races through all seasons).
- You’re curious about race and hosting events and want to learn more - we’ll provide training to build your skills.
- You’re a “can do” person who likes to learn new things.
- You have strong customer service skills and are personable. You can interact with the runners in a friendly and outgoing professional manner.
- You take initiative and can work both independently and as part of a team.
- CPR certification is an asset, so please specify if you have any certifications.

**Availability requirements**:

- Must be available to work 80% of VR Pro scheduled events within a calendar year. We typically put on 10-12 races within a given year.
- Must be available to work on weekends. Races take place on the weekends, with some falling on holidays (example: Canada Day race).
- Shifts will start in the early morning (can be as early as 5AM in some cases).
- We will ask for you availability for each event during the onboarding process so that you can plan accordingly. Only those who are available for a minimum of 80% of our events will be considered.
- You must provide your own transportation to and from races.

**Rate**: $20 per hour (paid in full the week following the completion of your shift). In addition to getting paid, you will also receive race swag.
