Tailor/seamstress

**Job Overview**

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tailor/Seamstress to join our team at Super Clean Laundromat in Cambridge. This part-time role will focus primarily on alterations, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. **Roles and Responsibilities**
- Perform a variety of alterations on garments, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, adjusting sleeves, and other custom requests.
- Take accurate measurements for fittings to ensure the perfect fit for our clients.
- Provide consultations and recommendations for alteration options based on garment style and fabric.
- Use our Point of Sale (POS) system to manage orders, record customer details, and handle payments.
- Enter all alterations and relevant details into the POS system, ensuring accurate record-keeping and order tracking.
- Operate and maintain industrial sewing machines and other tailoring equipment to complete alterations efficiently and to a high standard.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring efficient workflow and turnaround.
- Manage and prioritize multiple alteration orders while adhering to deadlines.
- Collaborate with customers and team members to provide exceptional service and ensure their needs are met.

**Qualifications**
- Proven experience as a Tailor/Seamstress, preferably in a professional setting.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining industrial sewing machines and using tailoring tools.
- Strong understanding of garment construction and different types of fabric.
- Ability to take precise measurements and perform alterations with a high level of accuracy.
- Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems and the ability to use them effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

**Hours & Compensation**
- **Work Schedule**: Part-time, 2 days a week to start (with the potential for more hours based on demand and performance).
- **Compensation**: Competitive hourly rate, based on experience.

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 16 per week
