The **Assistant Manager** reports to the General Manager and works with the General Manager to oversee various aspects of the TPFCS operations, ensuring that the TPFCS is running efficiently and profitably. The Assistant Manager's work week is Saturday-Wednesday, 1:30PM-9:30PM.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Interacts with customers, employees and vendors to ensure smooth transactions in a friendly and positive manner; meets all customer needs; ensures positive customer experiences at all times;
- Manages and oversees the resolution of customer complaints;
- Assists with weekly inventory, ordering and receiving supplies; and maintains pumps and fuel supply as required;
- Ensures that safety protocols required for the gas pumps are followed by both employees and customers, trains all employee on emergency situations, and conducts monthly safety drills;
- Ensures that security protocols, such as maintaining small amounts of cash on premises, setting alarms, are followed at all times;
- Develops and maintains relationships with distributors and vendors;
- Provides suggestions on products sold and services offered with the goal of maximizing TPFCS revenue;
- Assists with entering new product and invoices into the POS; provides support and training to employees in using POS technology and inventory management technology.
- Ensures that all local, provincial and federal requirements for the lawful operation of the TPFCS are met by all employees and customers;
- Assists with the preparation of internal reporting required;
- Completes daily float and change safe count and submits to finance monthly
- Opens and closes the TPFCS as required,
- Covers for the General Manager during their absences including reconciliation of all shifts, counts cash and ensures the paper work is balanced, completes daily bank deposits and outgoing expenses; authorizes or completes all store returns;
- Assists with the execution departmental human resource related initiatives including staff selection (regular and seasonal), ensuring proper training, and resolving conflicts;
- Attends meetings and events as required;
- Participates in relevant training and workshops identified by the General Manager to enhance TPFCS services;
- Ensures that service quality standards are maintained and consistently delivered in all areas of responsibility;
- Maintains strict confidentiality and exercises sound judgment and discretion when dealing with sensitive issues;
- Presents a professional, positive and helpful attitude at all times;
- Promotes a safe work place; ensures that all established safety procedures are followed;
- Carries out other duties essential to the position as directed by the General Manager.

**Qualifications**
- Grade 12 graduation (Dogwood or BC Adult Graduation Diploma);
- Minimum 1 years’ retail service experience, preferably in a management capacity an asset;
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
- Experience operating a cash register and POS system;
- 1 years’ experience managing, directing and leading employees an asset;
- Experience complying with organization directives and/or regulatory guidelines;
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle is required.

Tsartlip 653 is comprised of Goldstream IR13, Mayne Island IR6, Senanus Island IR10 and South Saanich IR1 covering approximately 334 hectares in size and includes single family residential and leased homes, band administrations and commercial developments.
