**About Us**:
In the Faculty of Health Sciences, the H.A. Leeper Speech and Hearing Clinic (Clinic) provides clinical training in speech language pathology and audiology for students enrolled in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), Clinical Research facilitated by faculty in the Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (HRS) Program, and Clinical Service for the community. It is also the home of the Southwestern Ontario sites of the Ontario Infant Hearing Program and the Preschool Speech and Language Initiative, tykeTALK.

As part of the Preschool Speech and Language Initiative of the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, tykeTALK provides community education, assessment and treatment services. tykeTALK also provides treatment services for children who have permanent hearing loss, in collaboration with the Infant Hearing Program.

**Responsibilities**:
The tykeTALK Program exists to provide assessment and intervention for preschool children who are delayed in their speech, language, feeding, or social communication skills. This work directly impacts the mission and the goals of the Clinic unit as noted above.
The tykeTALK speech-language pathologist’s (SLP) role exists to provide clinical supervision for graduate students in the CSD’s programs, aid research faculty, and provide clinical services to TykeTalk referred clients.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Master’s degree in speech-language pathology
- Registration with CASLPO
- Continuing education training in the areas of Autism and Motor Speech is preferred

**Experience**:

- 3 years experience in the field of SLP

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Knowledge of the needs of the community regarding the speech and language development in preschool children
- Ability to multi-task; clinical work and supervising students
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Extensive knowledge in working with a variety of pediatric clients (e.g. children with Autism Spectrum Disorders)
- High degree of professionalism with outstanding ability to work effectively and efficiently with internal and external clients at all levels of management
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality, with a high degree of tact, diplomacy, honesty, and respect when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to complete detailed, clear, concise, and accurate analytics and reports.
- Ability to supervise and to instruct graduate students in speech-language pathology.
