Shop Lead Hand

**Required**:

- Strong mechanical understanding of heavy trucks.
- Having a 310 T License is an asset.
- Capable of repairing Trucks and tanks as required after adequate training.
- Must be analytical, organized, and capable of making sound decisions in safety, productivity, and efficiency.
- Responsible for coordinating the daily work activities of employees while promoting a safe workplace.
- Understand the scope of work and organize the workflow in the shop to effectively meet customer’s deadlines.
- Responsible for ensuring jobs are done safely, correctly and completed on time while assisting with setup.
- Verify time reports with quoted time.
- Review verify and sign off on all work sheets.
- Must maintain quality standards outlined in quality control manual.
- Enforces process checks and performs random inspections.
- Train and mentor employees to increase their skill level in all activities.
- Must monitor employee’s performance, identify, and resolve issues and concerns on a daily basis.
- Capable of providing and maintaining clear and effective communications between branches.
- Knowledge in the petroleum haulage and highway truck and tanker industry is an asset.
- Team player that can maintain the duties outlined by upper management.

**RELATIONSHIPS**:
Daily interactions with mechanics, vendors, service advisor and all levels of Management.

**ABILITIES/SKILLS DESIRED**:

- Knowledge in automotive/ heavy trucks maintenance.
- Computer literacy
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Communication skills in French, both written and verbal an asset.

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Shop Leadership/Supervisory: 1 year (preferred)
- heavy truck repair: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- 310T Truck Mechanic Journeyman Certificate (preferred)
