**Indigenous Inclusion Coordinator**

We seek to support clients through a variety of programs while working towards equity, anti-oppression, and Truth and Reconciliation.

Programs at Knowles Centre include:

- Healing Homes **Day Treatment**:

- Treatment Foster Care Sexual Abuse Treatment
- SAIL (Independent Living) **Moving Forward Counselling**

**Work hours**

: Negotiable (varying between 16-40 hours per week) **Tentative start Date**: August 28, 2023

**Job Summary**:
The Indigenous Inclusion Coordinator will support the wellness and strengthening of identity in children and youth at Knowles

Centre by providing authentic Indigenous cultural experiences and knowledge throughout Knowles Centre programming.

**Key Responsibilities**

The key responsibilities of the Indigenous Inclusion Coordinator will include, but are not limited to the following:

- Coordination and support of Elders, Knowledge and Story Keepers within Knowles Centre programs.
- Plan and facilitate cultural knowledge and experiences within all Knowles Centre programs, with emphasis on Healing Homes and Day Treatment.
- Provide and promote opportunities to increase participation in Traditional practices.
- Support and assist children and youth in exploring their culture.
- Take care of and make use of cultural spaces and resources.
- Provide feedback to Knowles Centre Directors.
- Build connections with Indigenous communities, community-based organizations and businesses.

**Education and Experience: Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Cultural knowledge and competency are required. **Respectful of cultural diversity.**:

- A Diploma or degree in a social service field is an asset. Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in working with children and youth. **Excellent organizational skills.**:

- Understanding of Indigenous History and experience in Excellent and proven interpersonal and supportive leading cultural practices. counselling skills.
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture, customs and beliefs. **First Aid/CPR*Preference will be given to all Indigenous Peoples of Canada, which includes First Nations, Inuit and Métis.**
