**Role Overview**:
Reporting to the Clinical Manager or designated leader, the **Sleep Clinician** will be expected to work daily with clinical and administrative team members to ensure that Aveiro Sleep is delivering the highest level of clinical care and support to current and prospective patients. Our patients are at the center of everything we do.

Position to be based out of Calgary, AB.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Home Sleep Apnea Testing (HSAT)
- Review patient history, symptoms, and prescription for Home Sleep Apnea Testing.
- Set up and educate patients on sleep testing equipment.
- Conduct knowledgeable and clear instructions for equipment usage.
- Complete medical questionnaires, obtain patient consent, and ensure appropriate data storage.
- Review and report on HSAT data, liaising with other clinical and administrative staff to ensure timely reports to physician offices.

CPAP Therapy (Fitting and Follow-up)
- Set up and educate patients on CPAP therapy and treatment.
- Titrates CPAP pressure for optimal effectiveness and patient comfort.
- Present, fit, and complete mask sales.
- Download, analyze, and interpret CPAP data.
- Ensure proper cleaning and reprocessing of equipment.
- Charting, report writing, and follow-up with patient compliance.
- Assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance.

Oxygen
- Assess patients' oxygen requirements and determine appropriate equipment.
- Educate patients on the use of home oxygen equipment and safety measures.
- Monitor patients' oxygen levels and adjust equipment as needed.
- Provide troubleshooting support for equipment malfunctions or patient concerns.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care for patients receiving home oxygen therapy.
- Document patient interactions, equipment usage, and any changes in treatment plans.
- Perform initial oxygen set-ups and teaching for new patients being discharged from the hospital or in the community.
- Participate in emergency on-call rotation.
- Patient Education
- Facilitate one-on-one and group education sessions and deliver informative lectures for patient education events.
- Inform and educate patients and family members on Obstructive Sleep Apnea, CPAP therapy, and other alternative therapies**.**

Additional Responsibilities
- Effectively communicate with supervisors, physicians, and co-workers.
- Manage stressful situations with composure and professionalism.
- Contribute to clinical and business improvement opportunities.
- Provide support at different clinic locations to assist with business initiatives.

**Qualifications**:

- Current registration and good standing with your appropriate governing body.
- Strong understanding of respiratory care and home oxygen therapy.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
- Excellent computer and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Willingness to work independently.

Assets:

- 3 years’ experience in Sleep Diagnostics and CPAP therapy.
- Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE) designation.
