We are seeking a highly motivated **Assay Development Scientist **to join our Assays team and actively develop and implement assays to support Gandeeva drug discovery programs.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design and develop novel enzymatic and protein-protein interaction assays to study various therapeutic modalities and targets in drug discovery pipeline.
- Design and execute biochemical or biophysical experiments to screen and identify small molecule hits, support compound optimization, and understand mechanism of action.
- Explore, assess, and bring in-house state of the art technologies and approaches to enhance and continuously improve screening workflows.
- Perform other related duties as required.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- PhD or MSc with 3+ years of relevant industrial experience in biotechnology, biochemistry, biophysics, cell biology or a related discipline.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with various biochemical and biophysical assay methodologies and instrumentation.
- Proficient in assay development and optimization to achieve robust metrics and statistical parameters.
- Hands-on experience and technical expertise of biophysical methods to characterize protein binding interactions (eg. SPR, DSF, MST, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with semi-automation techniques and scalable assays across multi-well formats.
- Understanding and experience in small molecule or fragment-based drug development is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work to a high level of personal and professional integrity and ethics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with scientific and non-scientific personnel.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities or tasks.
- Must be an independent, self starter who is also an excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be flexible and adaptable to work collaboratively and effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
