**As Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Hela Spice Canada Inc. you will **

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Review, create and maintain regulatory information (product specifications, product labels, nutritional and allergen information ) related to ingredients, ingredient formulations and finished products for the Canadian and US market to assess and assure compliance with the corresponding regulatory agency’s policies, regulations, and standards (CFIA, Health Canada, FDA, USDA).
- Ensure formulations are updated, accurate, complete and approved prior to production.
- Help guide the product development process to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current food regulations, labelling requirements and relevant technical product and processing information in Canada and US. Assure appropriate interpretation of these regulations and communicate impact to the business.
- Utilizes food science, nutrition and regulatory knowledge to identify new ideas to help guide project teams through issues.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree in Food Science / Nutrition / QA or related degree.
- 1+ years of experience in RA or QA (coupled with RA) role within the food industry.
- Solid food regulatory understanding of both Canadian and US regulatory requirements according to CFIA, Health Canada, FDA, USDA.
- Knowledge and experience in meat inspection regulations for Canada and US considered as asset.
- Strong system skills, including ability to work with MS Office, SAP and Genesis software.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem solving, presentation and analytical skills.
- Must be organized, detail oriented and be able to prioritize projects and tasks.
- Proactive and performance driven, have a bias for action and be able to work under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Bilingual French and English, written and spoken would be an asset.

Compensation negotiable based on skills and experience.
