**Job Title**: Library Technician

**Reports to**: Director of the Library

**Classification**: Part-time Staff

**General Responsibilities**:

- carry out book and periodical purchasing in consultation with the Director of the Library;
- catalogue, label, and shelve new purchases and donations;
- communicate with faculty to ensure course materials are available;
- supervise circulation of the collection;
- promote and communicate new resources;
- prepare semi-annual statistical reports for the Director of the Library;
- provide orientation to new students;
- supervise student workers;
- provide reference support to students;
- process local and online bookstore orders.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Librarian Technician diploma preferred;
- knowledge of library principles, methods, and procedures;
- knowledge of research procedures and academic standards;
- familiarity with Library of Congress Classification;
- knowledge of Christian theology is desirable, but not required;
- ability to operate standard office and computer equipment, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and online software;
- accurate record-keeping and reporting skills;
- public service experience, personal tact and courtesy, ability to work in a team environment;
- aptitude and interest in library work.

**Work Conditions**:

- 28 hours per week to be spread across four or five days by mutual consent;
- the library is closed in July;
- all work must be performed on site (remote work is not possible);
- medical and pension benefits are included;
- on-site parking is available for a small payroll deduction;
- additional hours of work may be available as Assistant to the Registrar.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $21.50 per hour

Expected hours: 28 per week
