- **ROLE OVERVIEW**_

The Prepress Production Artist is responsible for preparing digital files for print production, ensuring they meet quality standards and print specifications. They collaborate closely with internal teams and clients to address any design or technical concerns before printing. Their role involves an attention to details, using specialized software and tools to adjust colours, resize images, and troubleshoot technical issues to optimize print readiness.

This role is based out of our office at 150 Dynamic Drive in Scarborough, Ontario.
- **HIGHLIGHTS OF WHAT YOU WILL DO**_
- Prepare prepress files for digital print and production, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure a smooth workflow and timely delivery of projects
- Utilize extensive knowledge of PDF, colour, and other technical languages for prepress operations
- Check electronic files for completeness and potential problems with die lines, bleeds, artwork orientation, colour space, and that all necessary files are present
- Identify missing or problematic components and communicate them to the Graphic Sales Manager
- Output laser PDFs for internal approval, perform quality control checks on final output documents, and follow all quality assurance procedures
- Read and understand job requirements before beginning the print process
- Perform file management on the file server
- **WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL**_
- Education in graphic arts along with a minimum two (2) years’ experience in graphic arts industry specific to large format digital print or production art
- Demonstrate superior expertise with Adobe CC, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
- Proficient with MS Office products
- Understanding of various substrates, corrugated, plastics, adhesive, paper, litho, and their uses in relation to large format digital print equipment and production
- Understanding of how artwork needs to be prepared for print processes and able to find creative solutions for complex layouts while adhering to client style guides
- Positive attitude and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
- Organized, creative, logical thinker and strong attention to details
- Understanding of PDF workflow
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders and procedure manuals
- Effective communicate with vendors and employees
- Meet tight timelines and be a team player
