**Job Overview**

**Duties**
- Operate and drive trucks to transport freight to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding routes, schedules, and any issues that arise during transport.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while maintaining a safe driving record.
- Perform basic maintenance on the vehicle, including checking fluid levels and tire pressure.
- Operate heavy equipment as necessary for loading/unloading freight.

**Skills**
- Proven experience in freight transportation with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair techniques for basic vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently when required.
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS technology.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Attention to detail in maintaining logs and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
