Financial Analyst Intern

- Located out of our Calgary Office, the Financial Analyst Intern will report to the Supervisor, Marketing Planning and Forecasting. As a key member of the Finance Marketing team, the Financial Analyst Intern will be accountable to provide support for the Marketing budget and forecast activities, develop internal reports, build & maintain models, as well as assist with various tasks including project improvement initiatives.
- Qualifications:
- Enrolled in the Business Faculty with a focus on Finance, Accounting, Math or Economics in good standing or recent graduate
- Successful completion of at least 2 years of the program
- Experience:
- Power BI reporting solutions experience considered an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Excel ideal
- Skills:
- Analytical
- Proven ability to take initiative
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, business acumen and problem-solving skills
- Desire to work collaboratively in a team environment with integrity
- Time management skills with the ability to problem solve
- Productive, reliable, and responsible
- Excels working in a fast-paced environment
- Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Support forecasting process including monthly updates to our models and associated documentation
- Update monthly variance analysis of financial results as part of our reporting cycle
- Develop driver-based analysis of performance including visual or graphical representation
- Sensitivity analysis including movement of pricing, volume and other key variables and assess financial impacts
- Support Transportation and Logistics initiatives and reporting
- Perform reconciliations within our ETRM (trade system)
- Data entry into SAP with oversight
- Support project improvement initiatives
- Ad hoc projects and assistance to the team where needed
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday 40 hours per week
- 8 or 12 month term
