**ESL Instructor**

Part Time Contract

$19.29/hr, 10 hours/week

Start date: February 27th, 2023

Reports to: English Circle Coordinator

**Background**

ACSA is a nonprofit, multi service agency at the heart of Agincourt addressing needs and empowering children, youth, newcomers, homeless, and otherwise underserved communities. Residents currently lead the Women’s English Circle Project (ACSA is the trustee)/ Women’s English Circle is looking for a qualified ESL instructor to plan, implement and evaluate its Women’s English circle. The staff person will work closely with the Women’s English Circle Coordinator.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Instructs English as a Second language classes
- Develops and implements a daily lesson plan appropriate to learners’ level
- Maintains attendance records and other documentation as required
- Uses a variety of teaching techniques and methodologies to ensure all students are reached
- Ability to organize activities such as field trip, workshops, etc
- Prepares and maintain ESL materials, supply inventory for class instruction
- Work as part of the team, ensuring student needs are met
- Assist with outreach and program evaluation as needed
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- TESL certificate from an accredited institution recognized by TESL Ontario
- Experience teaching English as a Second Language to adult and newcomers.
- Teaching skills and the ability to adapt teaching methodology to the needs/skill levels of individual learners and share knowledge with students
- Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a multicultural environment
- Ability to speak English and other languages such as Spanish. Dari and Pesto preferred
- Ability to work independently with excellent organizational and time skills.
- Computer skills in MS Office, Zoom and Google docs
- Highly motivated, independent and creative individual.

**Working Conditions**

Able to attend meetings and trainings at various affiliated sites

Some physical activity may be required at times such as lifting packages
