Job Title: CFOC Ajax HUB Supervisor

Reports To: Manager, CFOC Homelessness Initiatives

Purpose of the position: To supervise the CFOC Ajax HUB staff, facility operations, to assist unsheltered and homeless individuals seeking connection to supports and services.

The CFOC Ajax HUB (HUB) Supervisor oversees the administration and staff of the Coordinated Access Point for patron supports and services with the direct goal of preparing individuals for housing stability.

Supports include close collaboration with social assistance programs and community services to assist patrons experiencing homelessness.

HUB patrons come from racially, culturally, and ethnically diverse backgrounds, as well as varied circumstances that may include serious mental health illness, substance use, poverty, social isolation, unemployment and/or underemployment and history with the criminal justice system.

The CFOC - Ajax HUB Supervisor, works from a client centered, non-judgmental and harm reduction approach to determine immediate and on-going patron needs, collect, and provide information, make appropriate referrals, and resolve conflict situations.

Key skills, experience and behaviours required for this position:

- Post-secondary education in a health-related field, such as Social Work/Social Service, Psychology, PSW, Nursing, Mental Health and Addictions, and the equivalent combination of education and experience with a minimum of 3 years’ proven progressive staff supervisory oversight.
- Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, time management and decision-making skills. Able to effectively communicate with staff, peers, and management teams.
- Able to work under pressure in a high-risk environment with mínimal supervision.
- Knowledge, understanding and experience with trauma informed and harm reduction intervention approaches.
- Familiar with Durham Region’s homelessness prevention initiatives, Coordinated Access

System, HIFIS and the By-Name List.
- Experience with tracking metrics for program evaluation and writing reports to summarize findings.
- Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative, is results-oriented and able to prioritize and work well independently and as part of a team.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and ability to learn programming as required to run the HUB.
- Excellent interpersonal and non-judgemental communication skills, including presentation skills as needed for outreach.
- Able to work flexible hours including some evenings, weekends and statutory holidays for outreach, meetings, and on-call.
- Current CPR/First Aid, Crisis Prevention and Intervention, Food handling certification, Vulnerable Sector Check

Oversight of HUB **Available to work 8.5 hours daily Monday through Friday,**
**Operations as well as after-hours as first point of contact for emergency on-call one week per month.**
- Ensure HUB operations are coordinated with respective CFOC management, oversight of staff, security, and cleaners.
- Working directly with the Data Admin/HRT Supervisor to ensure proper completion of all HIFIS entries.
- Approve monthly inventory supply requests and submit to Manager, Homelessness Initiatives.
- Maintaining files and other confidential information in accordance with PIPEDA guidelines.
- Works within the policies, procedures and regulations as required by CFOC and under the Ontario Health & Safety Act.
- Ensure all safety guidelines are in compliance with health standards and followed at all times by Hub staff and patrons, proper sterilization and hygiene practices, social distancing and masking where required.

Supervision of HUB Staff **Collaborate with the Manager, CFOC Homelessness**
**Initiatives, to coordinate new staff onboarding including level 1 hiring process (interviews), orientation and disciplinary actions.**
- Facilitate monthly team meetings (prepare agenda, designate minute keeper, coordinate guest speakers )
- Identify and facilitate areas for on-going skills development for all HUB staff in accordance with the requirements of CFOC (ie Food handling certification, CPR/First Aid, CPI...)
- Overseeing the coordination and supervision of all HUB staff and ensuring that daily tasks such as; general facility maintenance, food service, documentation, are completed.
- Support patrons and HUB staff & volunteers to facilitate challenging situations and ensure proper enforcement of

Code(s) of Conduct.
