**Job Posting**: Education Assistant

Unisus is looking for a qualified Education Assistant to work with our Primary Years Program’s (PYP) teachers to support students with diverse learning challenges, behavior challenges, and autism. The supports provided will range from behavior management, curriculum implementation, social skills development, to personal care and the implementation of individualized education plan (IEP) goals and intervention plans.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:Under the direct supervision of the Head of School, classroom teachers, and our Learning Support Specialist, the education assistant provides assistance to our PYP students who have learning differences and/or social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Hours of work are for each day the designated students are in attendance, or as per other duties or arrangements by the Head of School. Although primary duties for each position are stated, duties may include other arrangements or duties as designated by the Head of School. Additional time, including supervision time, may be added to the position.

**Required Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills**:Applicants should have:

- completed Grade 12
- successful completion of a certified Education Assistant Program
- recent successful experience in working with school-aged children in structured programs or school settings.
- knowledge of basic First Aid
- demonstrated skill level to effectively assist students with grade appropriate curriculum
- demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- demonstrated ability to collaborate with Head of School, teachers, and support team
- demonstrated ability to work effectively with students and school personnel
- strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- demonstrated digital literacy skills including the ability to integrate the use of technology to support an effective learning environment.
- excellent interpersonal skills.
- effective communication skills in verbal, written and digital format.
- physical ability to perform all aspects of the position.
- Preferred but not necessary_: course work or experience in working with children with autism; course work or certification in ECE; experience in an International Baccalaureate School (IB)

**Salary**: $24.50-$27.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday
