**Job Overview** **:Outdoor Lead Educator**

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Educator to join our team at Sunhouse Outdoor Academy Join a dynamic and passionate team at our **fully outdoor**preschool located at Trout Lake. We are dedicated to fostering children’s growth through nature-based learning, helping them become well-rounded individuals with a love for the outdoors. The Academy runs all year long, rain or shine.

This role requires a commitment to educational excellence and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students. We are seeking childcare providers who have a positive outlook, are flexible with change and adaptable.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead a group of up to 10 children (ages 3-5) alongside another educator, maintaining a 1:5 ratio.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through various assessment methods.
- Create a supportive classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusivity, and collaboration.
- Implement the daily lesson ideas, nature-inspired activities that align with our holistic program goals (all provided to you).
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance and development.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
- Collaborate with other educators to share resources and strategies for improving student outcomes.
- Supervise and support children in an outdoor environment, ensuring their safety and well-being rain or shine.
- Foster social-emotional development by teaching self-advocacy, confidence, and teamwork.

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in group care or working with preschool-aged children preferred.
- A love for the outdoors and comfort working in all weather conditions.
- Enthusiasm for learning and implementing holistic educational approaches.
- Ability to adapt, problem-solve, and work collaboratively with other educators.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 22.5 - 40 per week
