**Job Summary**:

- The Receptionist plays an essential role in all our journeys by ensuring that our patients, physicians, and coworkers receive reliable, accurate, and compassionate care.
- We expect that as the first point of contact in clinic you will enter each interaction with respect and dignity by providing every patient with clear, detail-oriented care that is timely and accurate.
- It will be your responsibility to check patients in for appointments, manage patient documents, and ensure that all front desk responsibilities are met at all times, as well as ensuring a smooth flow of patients and clinic personnel.

**Medical Receptionist duties and responsibilities**:

- Answer phone calls and direct callers to the right person when needed
- Provide assistance to patients when they arrive at the office
- Store medical information (test results, patient documents) in the EMR
- Ensure patients understand office policies
- Process payments
- Schedule appointments based on doctor availability
- Call patients to remind them of upcoming appointments and follow ups
- Light housekeeping duties

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Ability to work as a team member or independently
- Self motivated
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication skills - verbally and written
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and computer skills
- Pleasant interpersonal skills
- Personal skills which include attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to interact with patients in a tactful and courteous manner
- Willingness to adapt to new polices and procedures
- Knowledge of office routines, schedules, and protocol

**Experience**:

- With a year experience (asset), or previously served in a customer service role or worked as an Administrative Assistant.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology is an asset but not mandatory
- Use of Accuro EMR

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 16 per week

**Experience**:

- Medical Secretaries & Patient Registrars: 1 year (preferred)
