We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Electromechanical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will report directly to the Technical Service Supervisor and will be involved in the repair, calibration, installation, and safety and performance inspections on designated electromechanical patient care devices. The Electromechanical Technician is active in equipment management, special projects, safety initiatives and risk management programs of the department. The Electromechanical Technician is expected to work closely with other staff members of Technical Services, client clinical staff, and other health care professionals, and other stakeholders to find solutions for patient safety, environmental, and equipment related issues.

**Position Scope**:

- Primarily responsible for the support of Patient Support medical equipment, Infrastructure-related Medical Support Equipment and other technologies as may be assigned.
- Participates in the planning and scheduling of the daily delivery of service.
- Performs incoming inspections on new equipment. Works with health care professionals to facilitate installation of new equipment and technologies.
- Performs periodic inspection of designated equipment and systems as per preventive maintenance schedule.
- Performs corrective maintenance and repairs on designated equipment. This includes troubleshooting and testing to determine the cause of equipment problem and may include component-level repair. Inspects the equipment, following repair, for electrical, mechanical, and operational safety before returning it to service. Assists/advises other staff members with repair of equipment in area of specialty as required.
- Collects data for action or information as required.
- Initiates, actions, performs, and documents modifications to equipment as authorized.
- Attends and participates in continuing education activities as required.
- Fabricates and tests new equipment developed for use in health care facilities or within the department.
- Develops inspection procedures for designated equipment.
- Prepares written reports, correspondence, and work orders for the purposes of recording device histories and consultations, communicating with health care professionals, documenting incidents, detailing service information and related activities.
- Assists in risk management activities through the review and follow-up of alerts, product notifications, and recalls relating to electro-medical devices.
- Participates in technical service development initiatives.
- Develop quotes and proposals.
- Similar tasks, as assigned (may include direct reporting to health care administration, unique testing and development projects, problem solving, and communications with various levels of health-care professionals, and asset management).

**Qualifications**:

- Post-Secondary Diploma in an applicable Engineering Technician program (Electronic/Electromedical/Mechanical) from a recognized institution, preference to CCTT Accredited programs.
- C.Tech. Certification (or eligibility) through Provincial Technology Society (NS -TechNova, NB- NBSCETT etc.) is an asset
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical/mechanical devices
- Excellent research skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
