Health Data Branch has three (3) opportunities which include:

**Data Development Unit** provides business consultation and project management services to define data collection requirements in alignment with best practices and data standards.

**Data Standards Unit** supports the needs of the health system and enhance the consistency and accuracy of health care information through the advancement clinical, administrative, financial, and statistical data standards.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**: The Data Development Unit, the Data Standards Unit and the Data Maintenance Unit are each looking for a strategic lead to advance critical projects under the Data and Digital Portfolio, Clinical, Wait Time, Financial, Statistical and Administrative standards and transform Ministry data collection, acquisition, and management processes for key health data assets in the province.

**How do I qualify?**:
**Data and Information Management**:

- You have knowledge in data management and stewardship to support a dynamic and evolving health care system;
- You have knowledge of clinical, administrative, statistical and financial data standards and practices (e.g. Ontario Health Financial Reporting Standards, Discharge Abstract Database, National Ambulatory Care Reporting System, Hospital Reporting systems etc;)
- You have knowledge of Information management legislation (e.g. PHIPA, FIPPA, Public Hospitals Act, Fixing Long-Term Care Act)
- You have knowledge of data governance and best practices, end-to-end data lifecycle including acquisition, privacy, integration, dissemination, storage, retention and release;
- You have knowledge of provision of information analysis and recommendations for business cases and information architecture;
- You have analysis, planning and coordinating for data and client services to ensure timely and effective responses and solutions;
- You have extensive knowledge of health care reporting standards and business requirements and systems (e.g. funding, case mix and case weight methodologies, hospital performance agreements).

**Strategic Leadership / Project Management Skills**:

- You have knowledge of principles and practices of strategic policy planning and development;
- You can provide strategic expertise and leadership for the planning, development, implementation and sustainment of information management and data management initiatives and portfolios;
- You can lead the development of business cases, environmental scans, project artifacts and strategies;
- You have an understanding of data governance policies, standards and procedures to ensure data quality and integrity to support health policy and program decision-making;
- You have experience planning and leading multi-disciplinary teams;
- You can provide team leadership, direction and guidance to project teams;
- You can brief senior management on options, and short
- and long-term strategies to facilitate senior level decision making.

**Communication and Stakeholder Relationship Skills**:

- You have knowledge of the decision-making and accountability framework of the provincial government, including the program monitoring and reporting and allocations processes;
