**Job description**
Penticton and District Society for Community Living (PDSCL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting people with diverse abilities in Penticton and surrounding communities. We provide support and services for people with intellectual disabilities, seniors, low-income adults, families, and persons facing homelessness.
The Community Support Worker is responsible for effectively supporting persons with disabilities. Assists in daily activities, including personal care and medication administration. Assists clients with physical, economic, vocational, recreational, social, emotional and daily life skills development.
PALS: Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates community-based recreational activities. Ensures the clients’ physical, emotional, social, educational, and medical needs are met. Assists clients to enhance quality of life with activities of daily living and the development of life skills.
**EDUCATION**:Minimum of a diploma or equivalent certification in a related human/social service field or recreation course. One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES**: Interpersonal skills, communication skills, analyzing and judgment ability, physical capabilities, initiative/ independence, honesty, work standards, team orientation, stress tolerance, acceptance of working conditions.
**OTHER EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS**:
- Satisfactory criminal record check-working with vulnerable adults,
- Foodsafe Certificate,
- Medical clearance,
- **Valid CPR/First Aid,**:
- **Class 4 Unrestricted license or willing to obtain,**:
- **Adherence to current Provincial Health Office Orders, including COVID Vaccine**
**Benefits**: Positions of 20 hours or more per week as per current collective agreement.

Pay: From $26.83 per hour

- This position requires clearance from the Ministry of Justice for a Criminal Record Check for working with Vulnerable Adults and Children. You will be required to provide this for your second stage of Onboarding. Will you be able to obtain your clearance for this position?
- At Bruce and Murray House, a Licensed Health Care Facility that operates in line with Interior Health, it is mandatory for all staff to have the COVID-19 Vaccine. This is a requirement that must be met in order to work at the facility. Do you have proof of your COVID-19 vaccination?
- This position requires a Physician's Declaration of Fitness to Work. You will be required to provide this for your second stage of Onboarding. Will you be able to obtain this for this position?
