Indigenous Homelessness Outreach Worker

We are looking for an **Indigenous Homelessness Outreach Worker **that will be responsible for coordinating and implementing initiatives aimed at addressing Indigenous homelessness within the framework of Reaching Home Funding. This is a fulltime position.
**Key Responsibilities in this role**:
- Provide intake and assessment to participants that are experiencing homeless or at-risk of homelessness.
- Determine the individual's or family's priority for housing based on information gathered through the assessment.
- Provide matching and referral support whereby the individual or family is matched to and offered housing based on project specific eligibility, needs and preferences.
- Collaboration with community organizations, Indigenous leaders, and government agencies to ensure programs align with community needs and priorities.
- Build partnerships with various agencies and stakeholders to explore innovative solutions to address, prevent, and reduce homelessness.
- Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness about available resources and support services for Indigenous individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Advocate for policy changes at local, provincial, and national levels to address systemic barriers contributing to Indigenous homelessness.
- Provide activity, statistical, and analytical reports as required.
- Liaise with Elders for support as needed.
- Collaborate with government agencies and Indigenous leaders to develop and implement culturally relevant polices and strategies.
- Work with the Miywasin Team to deliver community Cultural Events.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding of social work practice and framework.
- Strict time management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.

**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of Indigenous cultures, histories, and perspectives, with demonstrated commitment to Indigenous rights and reconciliation.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and addressing complex social issues, such as homelessness, poverty, and mental health.
- Must have Standard First Aid - Level C CPR training or willing to obtain.
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
Pay: $4,000.00 per month
