**Production Lead - Sewing - Role Outline**

**1. Job Scope**:
The Production Lead - Sewing role: You are responsible for ensuring the quality of garments that are being produced and to participate in production update meetings as needed to ensure projects are being completed on time. You will work closely with Carmina, Production Manager and product development to manage sample making, setup the sewing processes, etc. for a production run, to ensure that the sewers know what they need to do and to perform any repairs to the sewing equipment as needed.

**2. Specific duties**:

- Perform sewing duties as outlined in the Sewers role outline
- Ensure project priorities are followed and completed, as assigned by Production Manager
- Prepare production planning, sewing sequences and S.A.M.
- Ensure that the production flow is efficient and understood by all members of the sewing team
- Provide training to the sewers and mentorship
- Organise and track progress of production in shared tracking/scheduling tool and proactively communicates delays
- Receive input, questions, and concerns with regards to the sewing process as it is setup, or with regards to problems with sewing machines and fabrics
- Communicate directly with Carmina of issues from sewers or problems with equipment or process
- Perform basic repairs to sewing machines
- Track daily progress, and hold staff accountable to deadlines
- Responsible for the quality of the garments being produced as the team lead.
- Work collaboratively with all staff
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA standards and safe practices across shop floor

**3. Team responsibilities**
As with other team members you will be requested on a day to day basis to work collaboratively as part of the production planning meetings. The continued success of the organisation is dependent on the support provided to Carmina, the production manager and to the entire production team. You are a leader within the company and must demonstrate behaviour and decorum appropriate to this position.

**4. Safety**

**5. Skills**:

- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to inspire others while building effective working relationships
- Ability to receive projects and process in a timely manner while understanding priority needs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate any delays in a timely manner
- Knowledgeable on patterns (ability to adjust flat patterns to custom measurements)
- Experience with industrial sewing machines (Straight Stitch, Serger, Double Needle, Cylinder Arm)
- High level of attention to detail in sewing, finishing, and completing samples
- Must pass a sewing test

**6. Knowledge/Education**:

- Ontario Secondary School Diploma - preferred but not required

**7. Experience**:
**-**Intermediate-to-advanced sewer with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with industrial sewing machines (Straight Stitch, Serger, Double Needle, Cylinder Arm)

8. **Payroll information**:

- Rate of pay is 22 $ to 25$
- Participate in bonus structure

**Salary**: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
