**Camp Director - Toronto Kidz Summer Camp**

We are currently looking for Camp Director for our multi-activity and specialized camps in the city of Toronto. We run a day camp at 8 locations for 2023.

Our KIDZ camp has a different theme each week such as Dinosaurs, Pirates, Space, etc. while our JUNIOR camp goes more in depth with topics such as Science, Leadership, Survival, etc.

Our camp runs from **July 4th to August 25th, 2023**, a total of 8 weeks. The Camp Director role start date is set for May 1st, 2023 (an slightly later start date might be negotiated). This is a hybrid position with general in-person work from June-August and working from home September-May with a few weeks of winter and march break camp and PA day camps in-person in Toronto.

**Camp prep work (May-June)**
- Plan schedule and content for in-person staff training held at the end of June
- Plan and organize camp programming and activities
- Create weekly and daily schedules per camp location
- Plan and organize field trips including bus bookings and museum reservations
- Prepare cheat sheets, checklists and visual reminders for counsellors
- Support with the update of the Location Manager handbook
- Support with social media posts and marketing efforts

**Camp Management (July-August)**
- Managing the Location Managers of 2-3 camp locations over the summer
- Quality control of programming planning and execution of assigned camp locations
- Contacting parents regarding escalated issues
- Overseeing field trip days with Location Managers
- Collaborate with Program Manager for programming quality control
- Collaborate with Operations Manager regarding parent communication

**Off-season work (Sep-Dec)**
- Wrap-up of the Camp season in terms of supply management, inventory, staff gifts, etc.
- Prepare yearly parent survey and staff survey
- Run PA day camps in-person in Toronto once a month
- Prepare and run Winter break camp over the winter holidays of 2023
- Start preparing programming, field trips, themes, etc. for 2024
- Work on recruitment strategy for 2024
- Work on staff training for 2024
- Social media and Marketing plan for next season

**Camp ramp-up work (Jan-Apr)**
- Parent communication for the registration start date
- Hiring of new staff for the next camp season
- Waitlist management
- Prepare and run March break camp in 2024
- Execution of marketing and social media strategies for 2024

**Requirements**:

- minimum age: 22 years
- needs access to a car and a valid driver’s license
- Previous work experience at a camp or kids' program
- Available for full-time work
- Completed studies in a related field is an asset
- holds valid first aid/CPR certification
- willing to obtain vulnerable sector screening check
- strong organizational skills
- strong verbal communication skills
- friendly, personable and flexible demeanour

COVID-19 considerations:
We follow all guidelines for day camps provided from the Ministry of Health. Those measures might include daily health checks for staff and campers. Cohorts for groups, mask wearing for staff and campers, no parents allowed in the camp, etc.

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- working with children: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driver's license and available car (required)
