**About the Organization**
- For the past three years, the Optimizing COVID-19 Research Infrastructure for Stakeholder-Informed Public Health Preparedness research team has engaged with the Canadian public on stakeholder-informed Pandemic Preparedness research to understand and mitigate the effects of COVID-19 on day-to-day life and well-being. Data from this study (>5600 Canadians) and other studies have pinpointed three critical areas that require further investment to better understand how to effectively mitigate information and communication challenges during public health crises..

**Job Summary**
- Reporting to the Team Lead, the Research Assistant will build on the national research related to COVID-19 to infuse stakeholder-informed priorities, experiences, and needs into targeted interventions to enhance public health communication and support public well-being. The Research Assistant will assist the Principal Investigator in all phases of the research program, from data collection to analysis, to project outputs. The Research Assistant will prepare periodic and special reports and assist in the development of presentations and manuscripts for publication, as well as support the development and execution of knowledge synthesis projects (systematic, scoping, and realist reviews of the literature), as required.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop study protocols and participate in study design and execution. Consent and enroll participants in multiple studies (e.g., focus groups, surveys).
- Collect and file study data, de-identify data, and perform data cleaning, data entry, and data analysis. Process qualitative and quantitative data using statistical software to conduct basic analyses of trends in support of the research project.
- Generate presentations, reports, and compile tables, charts, graphs, and summarized statistics for integration in research papers and reports on behalf of the PI and research team. Present on behalf of the team, as required. Create an initial draft of study manuscripts with the assistance of study team members and the PI.
- Assist with grant submissions, as needed, including creating grant budgets, timelines, appendices, and obtaining letters of support from partners.
- Under guidance from the PI, lead literature/systematic reviews including draft and submit review protocols, develop searches and inclusion and exclusion criteria, perform and lead title and abstract screening, and perform full-text screening and analysis.

**Note**
- The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

**Required Qualifications**
- Master’s degree in Public Health, or a related field (e.g., health services research, epidemiology, sociology), with a minimum of one (1) year of related experience.
- Qualitative research skills including previous experience working with NVIVO or other qualitative software.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and EndNote.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to problem-solve and exercise judgment within established guidelines and to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management, project management, and organizational skills and be comfortable leading multiple systematic reviews simultaneously within a deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of regulations for granting agencies (e.g., Tri-Council) and experience assisting in grant submission.

**Assets**
- PhD degree in a health-related field.
- Experience conducting literature reviews or knowledge of literature reviews.
- Knowledge of Dalhousie University processes and procedures.
