**Description**:
Are you an Inspirational Leader ready to make an impact on Health & Safety and Training programs and further develop your career? This position will be afforded the opportunity to influence, optimize and develop the programs and lead a great group of professionals. Collaborative teams and strong leadership will provide the Supervisor the support needed for success.
**Key Activities and Responsibilities**:
- Provide strong health and safety leadership and support that embodies Inter Pipeline’s Core Values.
- Provide instructional design and project management leadership for Transportation Business Unit.
- Develop, mentor and coach a team of health and safety professionals, setting a positive tone.
- Maintain an optimal health and safety organizational structure and talent requirements necessary to achieve and sustain strategic plan initiatives.
- Develop and maintain health and safety programs to comply with applicable regulations, industry best practices and Inter Pipeline corporate requirements.
- Audit, or support the auditing, of health and safety programs on a regular frequency, ensure the development of corrective actions and the timely and effective implementation of mitigation strategies.
- Lead the development and optimization of annual team budgets that directly support Transportation and corporate strategies and initiatives.
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual health and safety performance reports to stakeholders.
- Analyze health and safety performance information for trends, communicate trends and develop and implement strategies to improve health and safety performance.
- Ensure contractors understand and comply with contractual health and safety requirements; work with, or facilitate the support of, contractors to ensure compliance with contractual health and safety requirements.
- Build, Maintain and promote positive relationships and collaboration with the Operations group and other IPL stakeholders and support the efforts of Training and Development to design, develop and deliver effective, quality programs and learning activities.
- Contribute to the development of processes, procedures, standards, metrics, templates and other related Learning & Development infrastructure as needed.
- Oversee the development of competency frameworks, charts and profiles.
- Oversee the training curricula and program plans to ensure fit for purpose for the Transportation Business Unit.
- Regularly audit, or support the auditing, of contractor’s compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Monitor contractor health and safety performance metric to identify health and safety trends; work with contractors to ensure alignment with IPL health and safety performance requirements.
**Education, Skills and Education**:
- 10+ years or more in the health and safety field and/or learning and development, preferably in the energy sector.
- Post-secondary education in Health &Safety with CRSP, certifications/ experience with learning management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, work independently, and manage work schedules and activities in a coordinated manner.
- Demonstrated ability to manage HSE programs.
- Strong leadership competencies with experience managing diverse teams.
- Attention to detail, ability for problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Must have a solid working knowledge of applicable regulations and industry best practices.
