JOB TITLE: Research Associate - Formulation

YOU: A committed professional with experience in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry or Life Sciences looking to develop further in an innovative, fast paced biotech environment.

ROLE SUMMARY: Acuitas Therapeutics is seeking a Research Associate to work in the Formulation Development Department, reporting to a Research Scientist with the guidance of the Director, Formulation Development. The Research Associate will be responsible for design and execution of studies to develop, formulation, optimization, characterization and evaluation of lipid nanoparticles. The Research Associate will be responsible for interpretation and presentation of the results of these studies.

Working with the Research Scientist, the responsibilities would include:

- Production of LNP formulations to support internal and partnered programs using standard in-house processes.
- Characterization of LNP formulations and components using available assays and development of new assays in collaboration with other members of the group; detailed investigations of specific LNP attributes as required.
- Development, optimization and formulation of novel LNP to improve different aspects of Acuitas’ LNP technology.
- Database maintenance of past, present and future LNP physical characteristics and respective therapeutic index.
- Coordinate and execute formulation activities to meet internal and partnered objectives and deadlines.
- Collaborative analytics with other departments including Chemistry, Process Development, Analytical and Pre-Clinical.
- Maintain familiarity with relevant scientific knowledge and advancements, particularly in the nucleic acid LNP formulation space.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

- A minimum level of education, training, or experience equivalent to a Master of Science with two (2) years or Bachelor of Science with five (5) years of recent related experience in a research laboratory.
- Excellent bench skills, the ability to develop and master new techniques quickly, and be able to work independently.
