Support Staff Full-time New Position

(First consideration for Support Staff and Academic positions will be given to internal applicants in accordance with the respective Collective Agreements)

**Responsibilities**:

- Processing invoices for received product and recording amounts received
- Creating back orders as required that occur as a result of delivery shortages
- Coding invoices as per program requests
- Keeping a database of product and orders; adding, editing, deleting food items, recipes and requisitions
- Placing food and equipment orders as per recipes and requisitions
- Verifying the accuracy of products received against the invoice and the purchase order (PO); weighing and measuring all products delivered
- Checking the quality of the products delivered, assessing received product against standards
- Breaking down products into units as required
- Storing products as per industry practice and ensuring proper labelling and stock rotation
- Based on the quantities, type of product and equipment required and the facilities available in the lab, determining what needs to be issued for each class
- Planning the layout of the food requisitions to be issued
- Inspecting products to be issued for quality
- Preparing requisitions for each lab with the correct items and quantities, store and label appropriately
- Noting any shorts (product or equipment missing) as prepared, and adding shorts to the daily shopping list
- Noting any items requiring advance preparation on the requisition and communication log
- Maintaining a complete inventory of all culinary equipment and small wares
- Ensuring all equipment is clean and in working order and facilitating repairs or replacements

**Qualifications**:

- One-year Certificate in Culinary Skills or related field of study is required
- Minimum three years of practical food industry experience in cooking and/or kitchen management is required
- Knowledge of food products in order to properly receive, store and issue products
- Ability to react calmly to multiple requests and problems simultaneously
- Ability to lift weight of 20kg and up
- Able to endure long hours on feet
- Able to maintain cleanliness and organization
- Proficient with computers
