**Description**

Reporting to the Crusher Plant Manager, the Oilseed Crusher Operator is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, and coordinating with crushing crews, truckers, QC, and sub-contractors. The Crusher Operator is also responsible for ensuring high-quality material is produced to required specifications, completed safely, on time, on budget, and in compliance environmental regulations.

**Responsibilities**

The Crusher Operator has the following responsibilities:

- Shipping and receiving, cleaning of product including chemicals, seed to achieve production and maintenance priorities, plans and schedules
- Follow a preventative maintenance schedule providing basic maintenance and operator care of equipment and provide timely input on maintenance needs for critical parts, etc.
- Participate in emergency response and shutdown activities
- Ensure use of safety equipment and follow all safety and environmental SOPs, protocols and plans
- Follow company production related policies and standard operating procedures, including assisting with the completion of hazard assessments
- Participate in daily Toolbox meetings on plant schedule, goals and objectives
- Participate in team building, training, coaching and mentoring, as required
- Participate in and contribute to quality and continuous improvement initiatives
- Use electronic communication tools, and communicate with Shift Supervisor in a timely manner on issues, as required
- Submit accurate timesheets and respond positively to corrective performance management feedback
- Positively represent Canary Biofuels Inc. in the community
- Other duties as may be assigned to maintain safety, quality and/or environmental sustainability in Canary Biofuels Inc.’s plant operations

**Qualifications - Required**
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Basic computer skills
- Attention to detail to maximize the overall returns of the operation.
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, may be required to lift up to 50lbs occasionally, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Training or experience operating heavy equipment (Front End Loader)
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to work in various weather, industrial and agricultural settings
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).
- Excellent oral and written communications and time management skills

**Qualifications - Desired**
- Experince in Inland Grain Terminals, Feed Mills, Feedlots, Seed Cleaning plants, Forage Processsing or petrochemical plant
- An agricultural background would be an asset
- Experience following a BQ9000 or ISO9000 or COR program
- Experience in a production environment with a continuous improvement or quality management program
- Basic Mechanical Aptitude

**Education/Certifications**
- High school degree or equivalent
- Valid Alberta driver’s license

**Education/Certifications - Desired**
- Vocational, technical or college training would be a plus
