**Position**: Quality Control Technician

**Reporting to**: QC/SQF/Product Development Practitioner

**Definition**:
Overall responsibilities include monitoring, testing and auditing various areas and products throughout the entire factory using measurements, sensory techniques and proper laboratory techniques as described in the Company’s Standard Operation Procedures.

**Main responsibilities include**
- baking sample cookies in test bakery from recipes, logging observations in baking procedures and recipe changes.
- retrieving, organizing, packing Sales/Marketing Samples when needed
- any other relevant /related function that as directed by Liases/Direct Report

**Job Summary**:
Completes standard quality control testing using proper laboratory techniques to ensure all products exiting the factory meet the proper specifications as set out by Management. Testing methods include sensory, physical, pH, moisture, and viscosity and also organoleptic and sensory evaluations as requested by QC Practitioner/and/or sales/and/or customer.

**Responsibilities**:

- Daily Calibration of lab equipment as per company Standard Operating Procedures.
- Completion of daily finished product testing including measurements, pH, moisture and baking contrast for all products made the previous day
- Completion of Metal detector checks during shifts
- Ensure retain samples are received and stored in chronological order in the proper area.
- Completion of timely raw ingredient testing including pH, moisture, physical, sensory, viscosity, flour spread test for all ingredients received and reporting any deficiencies to appropriate person/QC Practitioner.
- Completion of weekly environmental microbiology testing
- Maintenance of fly boards and Indian Meal Moth traps as needed.
- Clean and sanitize lab on a daily basis (Dishes, floors, windows, garbage)
- Completion of shelf life studies as request by QC Practitioner
- Completion of bench top/kitchen cookie samples as requested.
- Testing cookie samples from the production floor that tested positive for metal
- Documentation control (Certificate of Analysis)
- Completion of the daily product line audit.
- Maintenance of raw ingredient samples
- Complete all tasks as per company SOPs and Methods.
- Samples retrieval and packing and sending as per requirements

**Requirements**:

- Experience working in a food production laboratory an asset
- Good Microsoft Office and overall computer skills an asset
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- High comfort level working in a diverse environment
- Strong attention to detail
