**Primary Focus**

In conjunction with the rest of the FSQA and Production Team, the FSQA Monitor’s role is critical for ensuring the Company complies with all food safety standards inclusive of the quality of products. The responsibility includes identifying and addressing issues relating to the food safety and quality on an on-going basis as well as timely and accurate completion of daily and weekly monitoring activities.

**Accountabilities / Direct**
- Conducts routine quantitative and qualitative daily inspections on raw material, in-process and final products. Entry of data into databases and communications of results verbally and/or in writing as required.
- Responsible for training and effectively communicating with all employees; continuous improvement of FSQA processes and systems; shaping the Company’s quality culture and ensuring all food safety and quality standards are adhered to at all times.
- Performs prevention activities and issue resolution: assists in FSQA audits, proactively identifies risks, takes action to prevent FSQA issues across company.
- Maintains necessary documentation as required pertaining to specs of meat products, credit/returns, customer concerns, etc.
- Communicates with regulatory authorities as required.
- Reviews, investigates and responds to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Performs monitoring, verification and internal audits as defined by programs in place.
- Assists in identifying training needs of the personnel within the production department.
- Conduct training necessary to implement and maintain food safety and quality assurance programs;
- Participates in the management review, internal audit, and traceability/ recall/ business continuity activities
- Performs any other relevant duties and responsibilities defined in company policies and procedures, applicable legislations, or the SQF program.
- **Participate in creating new company policies and procedures as required by changes in practice.**:

**Required Skills / Experience & Abilities**
- Previous work experience in the food industry, preferably in protein or beef manufacturing with a minimum of 1 year experience.
- Knowledge of scientific principles
- Must demonstrate adequate verbal and written communication skills
- Strong drive to deliver results to clients on a timely basis
- Able to efficiently make decisions and resolve problems
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.

**Salary**: From $18.00 per hour

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)
