The Autism Resource Centre is a non-profit organization that aims to meet the evolving needs of the autism community in Regina. We are currently hiring Casual Residential Support Workers for a supported living environment catering to autistic adults. We seek positive and engaging team players committed to enhancing the lives of autistic adults. Our staff provide skill development, emotional support, personalized care, and advocacy to empower our residents, fostering independence in a positive, safe, and inclusive environment.

We offer competitive wages and a fun, rewarding work environment. Please note that this is a casual position, and our operations run 24 hours a day. Shifts vary from 3 to 12 hours in length, and availability during various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends is an asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide person-centered skill building support to residents
- Educate and support residents in the areas of: community participation, exercise, self-care, social skills, medical care, cooking, life skills and mental health awareness
- Accompany residents to medical appointments and speak professionally regarding their physical and mental health
- Work collaboratively with the team to develop best care standards and individual support plans
- Develop positive relationships with family, community members, and other professionals
- Demonstrate a professional approach that maintains the confidentiality, dignity and integrity of the residents
- Demonstrate initiative, be resourceful and creative
- Follow daily routines and schedules while encouraging self-reliance and autonomy in the residents
- Provide quality written documentation and reports every shift
- Office administrative tasks

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Completed or working towards a degree in a related discipline, or extensive work experience in the field
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of autism and co-occurring conditions
- Experience working with autistic or neurodivergent populations
- Experience working in a supported living environment with adults an asset
- Excellent problem solving skills and knowledge of skilling building and support strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to actively participate in community activities with the residents
- Proficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office
- Certification in CPR/First Aid, Crisis Prevention, and Mental Health First Aid an asset
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check required
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
