General Machinist

_Must have:_
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in a machine shop setting (certification is not required for this position, but vocational training is preferred)
- Working knowledge of engine lathe, manual milling machine, surface grinder, and welder
- Ability to custom fabricate
- Experience with machining and welding of jigs and fixtures
- Ability to interpret blueprints
- Practical knowledge and experience in preventative maintenance procedures
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong working memory
- Excellent mechanical skills
- Proficient in math
- Primary Job Responsibilities:_
- Operate and maintain lathe and milling machines.
- Create custom tooling based on samples, drawings, or sketches to facilitate production orders.
- Review drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
- Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
- Select appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
- Plan proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
- Identify need for and perform machine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Aid in implementing and maintaining systems to virtually eliminate run interruptions and down time due to tooling capability
- Ensure that all tool room equipment is kept clean, organized, and properly maintained
- Identify areas of tooling fatigue or possible future problems and bring them to management’s attention

Full time, straight days, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
