Intermediate Paralegal

**Job description**

Simpson, Thomas and Associates is one of the leading personal injury law firms in BC. We are currently looking for an experienced intermediate Paralegal to join our professional and friendly team.

- A minimum of three years’ experience working in a personal injury law firm;
- Certificate or diploma from a recognized paralegal program;
- Good knowledge of Westlaw, Amicus Attorney, PrimaFact, Esilaw, MS Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Excellent organizational skills, be a multi-tasker and able to prioritize;
- The ability to excel in a fast paced environment;
- A strong work ethic and initiative;
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written;
- Experience in handling confidential and sensitive information;
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; and
- The ability to work independently and within a team.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Prepare settlement proposals and mediation summaries;
- Calculate economic losses;
- Prepare trial briefs and assist lawyer with trial preparation;
- Interview witnesses and prepare statements;
- Quantum and liability research;
- Prepare infant settlement submissions;
- Prepare medical chronologies and review medical records;
- Prepare consent orders;
- Prepare case plan proposals;
- Prepare replies to demands for particulars; and
- Other duties as required.

**Salary**: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
