**Swimming Instructor**
Cole Harbour Place is a 200,000 square foot sport and recreation facility located in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. We are here to serve and accommodate members of our local and surrounding communities to achieve their personal health and wellness goals. The facility includes pools, rinks, weight room and training centre, dance and fitness studios, spin studio, squash courts, various meeting rooms as well as multiple community minded tenants.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Effectively communicate with children and adults while maintaining a respectful and positive attitude.
- Instructing swimming techniques, strokes and water safety to participants 3 months old to ages 16 years and up.
- Communicate any concerns involving safety with aquatic supervisors.
- Ensure safety of children while they are in lessons by maintaining control over the class.
- Prepare effective lesson plans to ensure a productive class time.
- Complete paperwork associated with teaching swimming lessons including worksheets, midterms, and report cards.
- Assist in tidying the pool deck/staff room before and after lessons.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 1-3 years experience as an instructor or working with children
- Swim for Life certification required
- Intermediate Workplace First Aid required
- National Lifesaving certification and Lifesaving Instructor certification an asset
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills
- Ability to commit to 2-7 of the 2.5 to 3 hour shifts listed above for a 10 week term
**COMPENSATION**
Salary range $15.45-$15.70 an hour

Pay: $15.45-$15.85 per hour
Expected hours: 6 - 20 per week

**Experience**:
- Swimming Instructor: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
