Summary
The role of the Pipefitter/Plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing the piping systems and fixtures utilized in our commercial and industrial settings. The combination of this role requires versatile knowledge and the expertise in handling systems that transports water, gas, steam, chemicals, and other industrial matter. The Pipefitter/Plumber will ensure that all piping systems are installed correctly, function properly, and comply with all safety codes and regulations.

Job Duties:
Installation:
- Review blueprints and building codes and specifications to determine work details and procedures
- Install, assemble, and maintain all piping systems for steam, gas, water, air, and all other industrial fluid
- Lay out and assemble the piping routes, cut, thread, bend, and join the pipes using soldering, welding, or other mechanical joints.
- Install and connect plumbing fixtures, pumps, valves, and equipment based on blueprint requirements
Maintenance & Repair:
- Complete routine inspections, perform preventative maintenance, and repairs on current piping systems to ensure all systems are operational and safe
- Provide a diagnosis and/or troubleshoot any issues due to pressure problems, leaks, and blockages in piping systems.
- Replace and/or repair defective pipes, fixtures, and fittings as and when required.
Testing & Compliance:
- Complete pressure tests and inspections to confirm the piping systems are working properly, no leaks, and always meet industry standards
- Maintain all work completed complies with current safety codes and regulations, specifically high-pressure and hazardous materials.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date for all maintenance and repair activities
Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including supervisors, engineers, and other trades to coordinate installation and repairs for piping systems.
- Provide support during commissioning and decommissioning stages for various piping systems and equipment
- Respond to emergency repair requests promptly to minimize downtime to help maintain efficient production.
Safety & Quality Assurance:
- Remain current with all company and industrial safety protocols, including the use of proper PPE
- Ensure quality control in all tasked performed and completed.
**Requirements**:
- Relevant certifications in plumbing and pipefitting, including (Licensed plumber, Master Plumber or Certified Pipefitter)
- Industrial experiences preferred, particularly in environments of factories, manufacturing plants, power plants, etc.
- Proficient in using tools and equipment for threading, pipe cutting, welding, and testing
- Capable of performing x-ray quality pipe welding would be an asset
- Strong knowledge of industrial piping systems, including materials
- Experienced analytical skills to diagnose and implement effective repair solutions
- Commitment to ensuring a safe working environment for self and others
- Ability to work in a physical environment, which includes confined spaces, working at heights, and other industrial settings
Working Conditions
- 24/7 availability may be required
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
- Travel to off-site locations may be required
- Manual dexterity required to use power and hand tools
- Frequently noisy working environment
- Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
- Overtime as required
- Hazards associated with the trade
- Work both indoors and outdoors
Pay: $34.00-$42.00 per hour
