Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our team as an Interpretive Tour Guide and Museum Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for leading engaging interpretive tours, providing exceptional customer service to museum visitors, and assisting with various museum operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct Interpretive Tours: Lead informative and interactive tours of the museum and Village exhibits, providing engaging narratives and insights into the cultural significance and historical context of artifacts and artworks.
- Deliver Educational Programs: Assist in the development and delivery of educational programs, workshops, and special events aimed at diverse audiences, including school groups, families, and adult learners.
- Provide Customer Service: Welcome and assist visitors, answer inquiries, and provide guidance on museum exhibitions, facilities, and amenities to ensure a positive visitor experience.
- Maintain Exhibit Spaces: Assist with the setup, maintenance, and preservation of exhibit spaces, including artifact handling, labeling, and display rotation according to museum standards.
- Contribute to Outreach Efforts: Support outreach initiatives to promote museum programs and events through social media, community partnerships, and outreach
- Qualifications
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Strong knowledge of interpretive techniques, storytelling, and museum best practices.
- Passion for history, culture, and heritage preservation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in additional languages may be a benefit

Pay: From $16.30 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
