Richmond School District operates 38 elementary schools, 10 secondary schools, alternate programs, continuing education and a number of additional facilities. The district enrolls approximately 21,000 students (K-12) and employs over 3000 dedicated staff.

This position provides janitorial service and supervision for facilities rented to user groups. The

incumbent ensures user groups follow District policies and procedures and ensures facility is clean after

usage. May perform light cleaning duties throughout the facility as assigned. This position is under the

supervision of the Operations Supervisor, but work is performed independently with instructions

received from the regular Operations employee assigned to the facility as required.

Major

**Responsibilities**:
(This is not an exhaustive list of the duties to be performed.)

Represents the Board when school facilities are rented to various user groups. Opens, closes and

maintains security of the facility.

Checks condition of facilities before and after use and ensures District procedures are followed,

including obtaining signatures of renter.

Sets up tables and chairs or equipment as required. Cleans facilities used at the end of each rental.

Performs prescribed light cleaning duties throughout the facility as directed by regular Operations

staff. Performs all duties in compliance with District and Government health and safety procedures

and regulations that relate to the work performed to minimize potential for accidents, injuries or

hazards.

May be required to perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)

Grade 10 or equivalent

Ability to work with mínimal supervision.

Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, pushing, pulling and moving heavy materials, equipment and supplies.

Good interpersonal skills.
