**Position Summary**:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the preventative and acute maintenance of all fitness equipment and facilities. This position is required to multitask and be versatile in many areas but able to recognize when the task requires expert skills.

The Maintenance Technician will be working at different fitness club locations throughout the City of Edmonton where this position will be directed by the General Manager or Fitness Manager. This position works independently but as part of a team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform hands-on broad range facility and equipment repairs in a timely, professional, and safe manner.
- Use computerized maintenance software system to obtain and complete various work orders.
- Communicate proficiently and professionally with club General Managers, and all stakeholders to ensure proper workflow compliance.
- Review work orders and prioritize response according to urgency and geographic proximity.
- Complete tasks to the best of your ability, not attempting to perform tasks that require escalation to a 3rd party vendor or licensed tradesperson.
- Maintain appropriate level of work order completion.
- Accurately complete and submit administrative reports according to deadlines.
- Foster communications and relations with Club Management.
- Provide support for equipment installations and new club openings as required.
- Provide support for equipment service as required.
- Ensure maximum safety of all workers/contractors under their supervision by ensuring that all safety measures are observed and report unsafe conditions to management for resolution.
- Attend training and various meetings as required.
- Practice safe and professional driving habits when traveling in company vehicles.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years experience in a wide range of facility and equipment repair and maintenance.
- Certification in industry-accepted standards, an asset.
- Proven high level customer service abilities.
- Strong troubleshooting ability and technical inclination towards a diversity of challenges.
- Strong time management, prioritization, planning, and organizational skills.
- Flexible and able to react/adapt to changes in anticipated daily plan or task.
- Ability to work independently but as a key member of a team.
- Ability to relate well with others to foster positive and progressive team environment.
- Willingness and ability to learn through training and through skills-sharing with colleagues.
- Previous experience in fitness industry, an asset.

- Able to demonstrate a high level of service delivery; do what is necessary to ensure customer satisfaction; deal with service failures and prioritize customer needs.

Communication:

- Able to clearly present information through the spoken and written word; read and interpret complex information; talk with customers and clients; listen well.

Technical Orientation:
Must possess a Valid Class 5 Alberta Drivers Licence and Drivers Abstract deemed satisfactory and access to a reliable vehicle.
