Delta Controls is looking for a Junior Buyer to join our team. This person will be responsible for purchasing, reviewing material requirements, maintaining optimal buffer levels for components, managing inventory, and communicating with suppliers. You will be part of a dedicated team working to ensure the smooth and efficient supply of materials necessary for our operations. The role involves close collaboration with various departments to deliver timely and cost-effective procurement solutions.

**Work Mode: Hybrid (currently3 days a week to the office)**

**Work Location: Surrey**

**Salary: $55,000 - $66,000**

**Type**: full-time, Permanent**

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Manage a portfolio of materials and suppliers to ensure that Production and New Product Introduction Projects are met on time.
- Determine purchasing needs, analyze quotes, cost, and product availability, and recommend and initiate purchase of materials.
- Negotiate best achievable material pricing and payment/delivery terms.
- Ensure that purchases of all components are of high-quality confirming date codes.
- Follow order confirmations with suppliers and update ERP system accurately.
- Ensure components are delivered in a timely manner and expedite as required.
- Manage the DDMRP Buffer signals and purchasing of components; review critical component usage reports.
- Track the progress of scheduled deliveries and ensure promise dock dates are kept up to date.
- Manage inventory levels to align with established functional or corporate goals.
- Manage the part number details with respect to purchasing and planning in the SAP system and ancillary programs.
- Review and analyze material replenishment targets.
- Actively manage open supply Purchase Orders with respect to delivery dates.
- Create RFQ packages for required materials, or source special materials when necessary.
- Participate in a supplier selection process, including participation in supplier meetings and ongoing supplier performance management.
- Proactively communicate potential issues and interruptions in supply.
- Identify new or alternate sources of supply, including both onshore and offshore possibilities, targeting lower end-to-end cost of supply and alignment with long-term supply chain strategies.
- Work in a team environment to optimize supplier quality, on-time delivery, lead time and cost.
- Work with other functional areas across the organization to solve any issues related to material supply, quality and including discrepancies against orders or invoices.
- Be a key interface from Supply Chain to support the Quality Management System and Product Engineering requirements.
- Support the periodic review and updating of all policies, procedures, and work instructions related to procurement and ensure they reflect current practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Authority**
- Initiate action to prevent and correct problems with supplier’s deliveries and performance.
- Document problems within parts and follow up on corrective actions.
- Proactively contribute to the solution of problems.
- Verify the implementation of corrective action and document notes within DDMRP system.
- Maintain part attributes updated in the ERP system.

**Job Requirements**
- Fundamental understanding of ERP or MRP systems (SAP) preferred along with a high proficiency in MS Office particularly excel functions.
- Experience with DDMRP (Intuiflow R+) preferred.
- A degree in business or commerce will be an asset.
- SCMA or APICS certification courses will be an asset.
- Proven history or cases of supply chain cost savings and inventory management.
- Able to build commitment to ideas, plans, and courses of action.
- Proven ability to manage challenges while continuing to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
- Able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
- Strong time management skills and multi-tasking capabilities.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- 1 - 3 years of junior purchasing experience
- Knowledge of industrial or electronic component procurement will be an asset.
- High proficiency in MS Office particularly excel functions.
- Previous experience with MRP/ERP (SAP) preferred within procurement.
- Experience in Manufacturing High Mix-Low/Mid Volume environment.
- Basic knowledge of supplier contracts management will be an asset.
