**Position Summary**
Primary role is to operate a straight truck with a capacity of up to 5 tons to transport a variety of goods and materials. Responsibilities include safely loading and unloading cargo, securing loads for transportation, and planning efficient delivery routes.
- Location: Edmonton & Surrounding areas
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (morning shift)
- Start Time-8:00 AM (could vary)
- Majority City Work
- Open for hand bombing and load securement
- Ensure customer delivery is met in a timely, safe and professional manner
- Reliable, Flexible, punctual and safe driving behaviors
**Location: Edmonton, Alberta**
**Schedule: Monday - Friday**
**What you will do**
- Operates vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all DOT and company safety regulations.
- Conducts routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition.
- Manages appropriate cargo documentation and provides necessary paperwork upon the delivery of goods.
- Coordinates the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured.
- Maintains contact with dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport.
**What You’ll Bring**
- Valid Class 5 License is required
- Clean 5 years Commercial driving abstract (no more than 3 demerits and 3 negative events)
- Appliances delivery experience is an asset
- Comfortable with smartphone technology
- Must be willing to load/unload and be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Comfortable backing in all manner of tight spaces and locations
- Must be bondable and legally able to work in Canada
