Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Extensive work experience in Information Technology/Computer Science field. A combination of related education, training and experience may be considered.
- Extensive experience in systems analysis, design and development in multi-user, multi-platform networked environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills involved in IT business-planning.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience in planning, coordinating, organizing, and facilitating IT related projects.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Experience in implementing, configuring and maintaining modern database platforms.

**Desired**:

- Experience working in a Diagnostic laboratory environment including experience with current lab procedures, policies, workflows, tests, data collection, reporting, validation, auditing, and statistical analysis.

**Duties**:
The Business Analyst provides direction and oversees matters relating to the delivery and administration of technical information solutions for business problems in the Animal Health and Welfare (AHW) Branch and is accountable for negotiating, strategizing, organizing, resourcing, planning, designing, implementing, monitoring and analyzing information technology and strategic projects across the branch to ensure they are meeting the business service needs of the Department, clients and stakeholders.
