Design Technician
**Remote**: Canada

MOBIA is currently recruiting a Design Technician to join our team fully remote. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our design team. You will collaborate closely with engineers and designers to translate concepts into products, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Collect, analyze and organize basic engineering data as well as evaluate and interpret field surveys.
Designing appropriate access network facilities in a timely fashion to meet customer service dates using standard technologies and establishing project milestones for service delivery.
Design engineering drawings and reports to industry standards including CSA & ESA 22/04.
Analysis of pole lines for required conductor spacing, separation, clearance and physical element strength under ice and wind loading, using CSA standards.
Ensuring design drawings and calculation packages are completed by appropriate deadlines.
Other duties as required.
**Skills/Qualifications**:
Completion of related post-secondary education such as a Bachelor of Engineering and/or a Diploma in Civil Engineering or Certified Engineer Technologist.
Excellent software skills with a high attention to detail.
Experience working with Quick Pole and/or SPIDACalc and/or PLS-CADD.
Customer Service-focused individuals who take pride in delivering high-quality products.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Knowledge of Telecommunication outside the plant would be considered an asset.
Previous experience in the electrical or telecom field designing aerial and underground networks would be an asset.
Experience with QGIS is an asset.
Experience with AutoCAD is an asset.
