**ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN/ TECHNICAL WRITER**

**Contract Type**:Full Time Permanent **Probation Period**: Six (6) months

Our team is comprised of skilled occupational hygienists, project managers, safety consultants, technicians, CAD specialists, and administrative support staff who provide detailed and timely services. **JOIN OUR TEAM**
- Conduct designated substance and hazardous material surveys (ex. asbestos, lead, mercury, mould)
- Perform studies relating to environmental pollutants, water damage, and air quality
- Collect bulk/air samples in accordance with industry standards and methods
- Interpret environmental data and technical specifications
- Assist with the development of field sampling plans
- Communicate with clients, Joint Health and Safety Committees, and other parties as required
- Coordinate and oversee remediation activities
- Prepare detailed standard operating procedures, manuals, and technical reports
- Disseminate technical information in plain language for non-technical readers
- Improve writing and formatting of existing documentation

**EXPERIENCE AND ASSETS**
- A college diploma and/or bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or equivalent
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in identifying and assessing environmental issues, _or a_ minimum of one (1) year of experience in evaluating safety risks in the workplace
- A minimum of two (2) years in a position where technical reporting was required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Leadership skills
- Organizational skills
- A strong work ethic

The following training and certifications are considered assets but are not required:

- Phase Contract Microscopy (PCM) training
- AutoCAD training
- Professional Geoscientist certification (P. Geo, GIT)
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP®)
- Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T), Certified Technician (C. Tech)
- Environmental Professional certification (E. Pt, E.P)
- Asbestos worker training
- Hazard awareness training
- First aid certification

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS**
- Live within the Niagara, Haldimand, or Hamilton regions
- Possess a valid G-class license
- Have access to a reliable, insured vehicle and be willing to travel
- Be willing to occasionally work outside of normal business hours (ex. nights, weekends, and holidays).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $46,957.50-$52,175.00 per year
